April 09, 2010 - Baton Rouge, LA - Head football Stump Mitchell will take part in the weekend sports activities as the newly minted head of the Jaguar football team will toss the first pitch in the Lady Jaguars softball contest versus the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

"We're really excited about coach Mitchell taking time out of his busy schedule to accommodate us," said head coach Nancy Marshall. "He is unfamiliar with the way we throw the softball but we'll make sure he gets some practice throws in."

The Blue and Gold (8-26, 6-5 SWAC) currently sits in third place of the Western division in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-17, 4-3 SWAC) will try to hang on to their second place ranking when they visit "the bluff" this weekend.

Game time for the first pitch is set for 2:00 pm on Friday, April 9, at Lady Jaguar Field.
